The Principals

Kathleen L. Lewton, Steven V. Seekins, and Kenneth G. Trester bring to our clients:

Seniority. We bring you the wisdom accumulated after spending (respectively) 37, 41 and 37 year of hands=on leading in healthcare organizations and handling every conceivable marketing and public affairs challenge (including those that keep you awake at night, and some you might not have considered yet). And seniority also brings with it a degree of presence, so that when there is a crisis or a significant challenge that involves your CEO, board of directors, community leaders or other important audience, we bring to the table the kind of gravitas (and grey hair) that inspire confidence.

• 360° Vision. Because we’ve have worked in and for hospitals and major integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers and medical schools, physician associations and practices, and insurers/HMOs, we truly have the ‘big picture’ understanding of how the forces and players in the healthcare system interact, intercept, inter-relate and sometimes implode.

• Road-Tested, Reality-Based Counsel. The only theories you’ll ever hear us talk about are those that we’ve developed after actually grappling with the challenges you’re facing. Whatever the challenge or crisis you are facing, we have each probably already been there, done that, so when we provide counsel, we’re not talking through our hat(s). We’ve learned by doing (sometimes by failing, mostly by succeeding).

• Highly Specialized Expertise. While each of us has worked as a marketing and public affairs generalist and managed a wide range of disciplines, we also have individual areas of specific emphasis. Kathy Lewton literally wrote the book on health care public relations and crisis management. Ken Trester was a pioneer in hospital strategic planning and marketing. Steve Seekins has led public affairs teams at the local, regional, state and national levels. Each of us has held the highest leadership positions in respected healthcare marketing and public relations professional associations.
